The Work Podcast Episode 53 - Own It

Just got back from a couple weeks of travel and had some time to really think, reflect, and honestly zoom out on life a bit. This episode is a solo one—Greg's out this week—but I wanted to sit down and talk through something that's been on my mind after a post I made sparked way more backlash than I expected. Not because of the topic itself, but because of what the reaction revealed about how people are thinking right now.

At the core of it, this episode is about ownership. Not perfection, not control over everything—because that's not reality—but ownership over what you can control. Your health, your habits, your mindset, and the downstream impact those things have—not just on you, but on your kids and generations to come. There's a lot we don't know, but there's also a lot we do know, and ignoring that in favor of a victim mindset is one of the most disempowering ways to live.

I'm not here to judge anybody or point fingers. I'm just sharing how I see the world and what's helped me move forward with purpose. If there's one takeaway, it's this: you don't need perfect conditions to make progress—you just need to take ownership of the hand you've been dealt and play it to the best of your ability. That shift alone can change everything.
