An Update on the Cacao Crisis with Robert Sikes

As most of you are probably aware, there is a cacao shortage in the world, which is causing the prices to skyrocket. I recently visited Brazil to learn more and hopefully find a farmer to buy from directly. For this episode, I'll give you a brief update on that visit and what my discoveries mean for my business.

What you'll hear:

  • The reason for my trip to Brazil and the reasons behind the cacao crisis (1:12)
  • My hopes to work directly with a farmer, which did not pan out (2:07)
  • Newly implemented shipping changes as a direct result of the cacao crisis and extreme price increase (2:34)
  • The potential to offer tallow bricks as a new product to diversify ingredient sources and hedge against the cacao crisis (3:57)
  • Our passion and dedication to this business and delivering a high-quality product (5:43)
  • Prices may increase because we won't compromise on quality (6:07)
  • Our goal to do right by our customers and our target market remains unchanged (9:02)
